Clinical Trial - Sleep Apnea

Patient Benefits

Provide an alternative for those unable or unwilling to use CPAP as over 50% of OSA patients are non-compliant with CPAP use.

Improve patient outcomes because OSA sufferers have a 30% higher risk of heart attack or premature death. Stroke, diabetes, car accidents and depression are other serious OSA risks.

Study Overview:

What we do?

The study is intended to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of Targeted Hypoglossal Neurostimulation (THN) for those that are unable or unwilling to use CPAP. The THN Sleep Therapy™ System is designed to reduce or eliminate sleep apnea episodes. Essentially a pacemaker for the tongue, it provides mild electrical stimulation to the hypoglossal nerve through a surgically implanted medical device.

Key patient inclusion criteria:
  • Moderate-to-severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea
  • AHI between 20 and 65
  • No more than 10% central apneas
  • BMI less than 35
  • Unwilling or unable to use CPAP
  • Willing to undergo surgery
  • Have PSG (Polysomnograph) results
